STROMBOLI is the mythic volcano island near Sicily, in the south of Italy. Since ancient times Mount Stromboli continuously produces a flood of lava and fire. During the breaks between the eruptions a smoky cloud remains around his crater-head. Mount Stromboli rises out of the water as a natural lighthouse, guiding fishermen and sailors over the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Stromboli is het mythische vulkaaneiland nabij Sicilie in Zuid Italie. Sinds de Oudheid, en waarschijnlijk reeds vroeger, produceert de Stromboli een continue stroom van lava en vuur. Tijdens de rustperiodes tussen de erupties blijft er een rookwolk rond zijn kraterhoofd hangen. De Stromboli rijst op uit het water als een natuurlijke vuurtoren en gidst vissers en schippers over de Tyrrheense Zee.
