with seven ‘telephone-books’
These telephone-books have been used in the printing process of etchings. The superfluous ink on the plates was wiped off on the pages of the books. On these pages the telephone numbers of the landlines of all people in Belgium are provided. I think nowadays they don’t print them anymore.

met zeven telefoonboeken
De telefoonboeken werden gebruikt bij het drukken van etsen. De overtollige inkt op de etsplaten werd afgewreven op de bladen van de boeken. In die boeken kon men de nummers van de vaste telefoonlijn van alle mensen in Belgie vinden. Ik denk niet dat zulke telefoonboeken vandaag nog gedrukt worden.
