This is the 2nd iteration of GEOLOGY. The performance happened for the first time on 19/5/2019 at the entrance hall of S.M.A.K. on the occasion of ‘20 Years of S.M.A.K. / HAPPENING’ and the show ‘The Collection (1) Highlights for a Future’
The ‘MISFITS’ in this 2nd iteration is a series of numbered white carrara-marble pebbles.

Many travellers, maybe you too, contributed to the performance. They brought along a stone, made a photograph on the site where they found it and told me the story of their journey. Stones that got lost on the way are represented by blue ‘Absent stones’. All these stones from around the world come together in the performance and are archived in an artist book. This book ‘GEOLOGY ARCHIVE’ is part of the performance. In the final part of the performance the audience was invited to participate, and to take a ‘Misfit’ home.

Dit was de 2de happening van de performance GEOLOGY. Ze gebeurde voor de 1ste keer op 19/5/2019 in de hall van S.M.A.K. op de viering van ‘20 Years of S.M.A.K. / HAPPENING’ en de tentoonstelling ‘The Collection (1) Highlights for a Future’.
De ‘MISFITS’ in deze reïteratie zijn een editie genummerde witte carrara-marmer keien

Vele reizigers, waaronder u misschien, hebben aan deze performance meegewerkt. Ze brachten een steen mee, maakten een foto op de plaats waar ze hem opraapten, en vertelden me over hun reis. Stenen die onderweg verloren gingen worden gerepresenteerd door blauwe ‘Absent stones’ . Al deze stenen van over de hele wereld komen samen in de performance, en zijn gearchiveerd in een kunstenaars boek. Dat boek, ‘GEOLOGY ARCHIVE’ maakt deel uit van de performance. In het laatste deel van de performance werd het publiek uitgenodigd om mee te doen, en een ‘Misfit’ mee naar huis nemen.
